A new year welcomes new goals and fresh starts. As students started coming back to campus for the start of the new semester, excitement filled the air. Honors College sophomore Christina Rash is looking forward to getting the semester started off right. When asked what it felt like to be back at Purdue she stated “It feels wonderful! This place has very much become a home for me.”

As we end the third week of 2015, classes have begun and New Year resolutions are well on their way. Members of the Honors College are very ambitious and eager to tackle their goals head on during the next 16 weeks. Freshman Elena Bailoni says that she has learned a lot from her first semester at Purdue. Her insight from the fall encouraged her to strive to be more organized this time around. She also says, “Everyone has to make time for themselves. This year, one of my goals is to try and take more time out of my busy schedule to relax and unwind.”
For Jack Dierckes, a new semester means a new lineup of honors courses to choose from. This semester, he is enrolled to take Dr. Facinelli’s Heroism class. Jack is thrilled that this honors course gives him an opportunity to take a class outside of his usual science-based curriculum; however, the aspect he is most excited about is the opportunity to work closely with other Honors College students in the group-oriented class.
Honors students have high expectations for both themselves and their peers this semester. With a fresh start and warmer weather to look forward to, the spring semester is open to endless possibilities.
